This briefing seeks to help FDAC practitioners and judges understand the basics around non-lawyer reviews. The first part discusses how to prepare for reviews by submitting progress reports about each family and by holding pre-court briefing meetings between the judge and FDAC team. The second part focuses on practice within the reviews, discusses the current evidence base supporting non-lawyer reviews, describes how the reviews are structured, and details promising practice ‘dos and don’ts’ for judges.
